DMF Rebrand Concept - Proposal

Dakota Medical Foundation (DMF) was formed in the 1960s by a group of physicians and community leaders with the vision to build a progressive new hospital. In 1964, their vision became a reality when a state-of-art hospital opened. Eventually the hospital was sold to a for-profit organization, and the proceeds began the DMF endowment with a mission to impact health in our region.

With this rebrand, I wanted to pay respect to the original founders of DMF, which led me to a list of 17 community leaders. I worked on several designs to find the right feel, that I felt encompassed where DMF has been, where they want to go. This led me to a heptadecagon (17 points-17 founders), the star shape also signifies being a light in the community, providing hope and guidance, as well as ambition and achievement – things DMF provides to the community and local nonprofits.
